Beth McDowell Beth McDowell has been serving as youth associate at Hendersonville Church of Christ since 2007. Beth is originally from Lebanon, TN. She graduated from Lipscomb University in 2006 with a degree in public relations. Beth is nearing the end of her masters in psychology and plans to graduate in May 2010. While in college, Beth was an intern extraordinaire! She interned at College Hills Church of Christ in her hometown; Old Hickory COC in Old Hickory, TN; Mayfair in Huntsville, AL and Skillman in Dallas, TX. She had never planned on going into full-time ministry, but God had a different plan for her! Beth is passionate about challenging teens to fulfill God’s greatest commands to love Him and love others. Her hope is that she can show Jesus’ unconditional and selfless love to those around her. Beth enjoys spending time with family, going to concerts, counseling teens, being a social butterfly, mission work, going to rodeos and spontaneous road trips! |
David Swanger David Swanger came to Hendersonville in September 2006 and serves as Involvement and Outreach Minister. Originally from Dunlap, Tennessee, he has been married to Linda since 1979 and is the father of two married children, Joshua and Britney. David earned his BS in Bible from Freed-Hardeman University in 1979 and his Masters in Psychology/Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1992. Having served churches in Nashville, Spring Hill and Pulaski, Tennessee, David's goal is to see each member involved in ministry, touching their community in practical ways with the love of Christ, that doors might be opened to share the love and message of Christ. |
Brian Sheppard Brian has served as the Family Minister since 2004. He and Amy have been married for over 30 years and have 2 adult children both married, and one grandchild. Brian received an associates degree from Ohio Valley University in 1980, then a bachelors degree from Saint Leo University in 1983; he attended Harding University Graduate School of Religion and received a masters degree in counseling from the University of Memphis in 1990. Brian served in the United States Air Force from 1980 till 1984 and the Tennessee Army National Guard from 1990 until 1993. Brian was director of counseling at Circle C Youth Ranch from 1987 to 1989. He then accepted the position of youth minister for the Exchange Street Church of Christ in Union City, Tennessee. Next in 1996 Brian became the youth minister for the Lubeck Church of Christ in Parkersburg, WV. While there he taught Youth Ministry courses at Ohio Valley University and practiced counseling with Fred J. Krieg and Associates, Ph.D. Then in 2001 Brian accepted the Youth and Family position at Linville Forest in Kernersville, North Carolina. Brian is a licensed professional counselor. He also holds a national certification and is a professional member of the American Counseling Association and the Tennessee Counseling Association. In addition to counseling Brian teaches classes on topics related to marriage, parenting, single parenting, communications, pre-marital counseling as well as Bible classes. |
