Children's Education
Hendersonville's Children's Education Program strives to educate children from the nursery through the fifth grade. The major activities include Bible classes, a Summer Bible School program, and Children's Worship:
Bible classes are available during Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening worship times. All Bible classes meet in the Children's Education Wing of our building. The objective of all classes is to teach children God's Word, the Bible. Each class combines lessons and activities designed for the different ages.
Summer Bible School is similar to the familiar Vacation Bible School program. The major difference is that Summer Bible School is scheduled for four consecutive Sunday evenings, rather than a weeklong program. Some previous themes of Summer Bible School have been "I'm in God's Plan," "The Fruit of the Spirit," and "Heaven - I Will Make it There."
Children's Worship is planned for children who are two- to five-years-old. The two-year-olds and three-year-olds meet as individual groups and the four- and five-year-olds meet as one group. Children remain with the regular worship assembly until completion of the Lord's Supper. Once the Lord's Supper has been served, the children are dismissed to their Children's Worship locations in the Education Wing. The study program includes "The Fruit of the Spirit" and a review of God's followers mentioned in the Old and New Testaments. Children's Worship is intended to supplement our regular Bible School classes. A secondary function is to teach young children prepare children for worship in the larger auditorium setting.
